Ear Hair Removal

When you have ear hair, there are many things that come to mind. Embarrassing is probably the first thing as ear hair can be rather unattractive and difficult to deal with. You can’t shave it as inserting a razor in your ear will result in more than just losing the ear hair. You also don’t want to put any depilatory cream in your ear as it may cause you to lose your hearing, but at least you would get rid of that ugly ear hair.  Seriously, there are only a couple of effective treatments out there for ear hair.

One treatment is to use scissors to cut out the hair, but that can be very dangerous too as you could damage your eardrum by accidentally poking it with the tip of the scissors. Another treatment is using tweezers. This can be painful as you need to pluck every hair out individually for it to be effective. Others have used nose trimmers in the ear as well.

The best way to remove ear hair safely and effectively is with Laser Hair Removal. The laser is non invasive so you don’t need to worry about poking the ear, cutting off a piece of the ear or using the other dangerous ways. The laser works just below the skins level and attacks the hair follicles rendering them useless. The ear is a rather small area to use the laser on so the treatment will only take a minute or two depending on how much hair you need remove and how large the treatment area is.

Lasers are unusual, because it is not like shaving or depilatory creams that show immediate results. The hair will begin to fall out mostly from day ten to twenty. Your technician will tell you how many sessions you will need as most people need between three and eight sessions. Based on the area, you could probably expect about three to five to get the job done. Most follow up treatments are made about a month apart from each other.

Electrolysis has also been used on ear hair but it is very painful and can lead to burns and blisters on the ears. Electrolysis will also take nearly ten times as much time to complete for each session and could take as long as a year to complete. So what is comes down to is whether you want to pay more money, spend more of your time and suffer an unusual amount of pain with electrolysis or you can use Laser Hair Removal on your ear hair and have none of those concerns and the get the same permanent result. All that is left to do is to get on over to one of our Laser Spa’s and let our team get rid of that ugly ear hair.
