Underarm Hair Removal

Think of how many times you have worn a tank top and raised your arm just to remember that you forgot to shave under your arms. How embarrassing. Imagine if you never had to worry about underarm hair again. With Laser Hair Removal you can forget about that underarm hair forever.

The best way to get rid of unwanted underarm hair is to get rid of it for good. There are two ways to banish it forever. You can do this with electrolysis or Laser Hair Removal. Both ways offer permanent hair loss. Find out which method is right for you.

Electrolysis works with electricity. A probe or small needle is put into the skin and directed into the hair follicle. The hair follicle is heated up from the electricity until it is defeated and will never produce another hair. This procedure is repeated until every hair is treated. The underarm area will take approximately 40 minutes to complete and you will need 15 to 30 sessions to fully get rid of all the hair for good. After each treatment you may notice skin irritation, redness and possibly even skin discoloration. You will also feel pain with every insertion of the needle. The worst possible side effect, although quite rare, is electric shock.

Laser Hair Removal of the underarms works with a gentle beam of light that heats up the hair follicles and makes it so they will no longer produce new hairs. The procedure is non-invasive and does not use any needles and no bandages are needed. The laser wand is hand held. When you are brought into the treatment room you will be given a pair of shades to protect your eyes from the laser. Your technician will also wear a pair of glasses. With each zap, several hair follicles will be treated, unlike electrolysis that treats one hair at a time. The sessions are also shorter. With Laser Hair Removal of the underarms it will take approximately four minutes per session. To get rid of all the hair you will need approximately five visits. Unlike electrolysis, Laser Hair Removal of the underarms is described as a comfortable procedure by most. Many of the lasers that are used today have a self-regulating cooling gel that is applied to the skin during the procedure. If you are concerned about pain you can also request that an anesthetic cream is applied to the underarms before starting the procedure.

In order to get your underarms ready for the procedure there are a few things that you must know. If you are planning on exposing your underarms to the sun than you must apply a sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30. By doing so you will be able to prevent discoloration of the skin caused by the sun exposure. You should also shave the day before the treatment.
